Philippine National Police Chief Debold Sinas has issued a warning that partygoers during the Christmas holiday season will be arrested.

This is part of the government’s efforts to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease or COVID-19.

“Parties have been prohibited so, of course, we will have partygoers arrested,” Sinas said.

The controversial police chief drew flak earlier this year due to his mananita birthday celebration amid the government lockdown.

Dinner events, on the other hand, will depend on police commanders to decide if they will consider it as parties.

“I leave it to the commanders to decide,” Sinas said.

Sinas said people who are not wearing face masks and face shields will no longer be arrested.

“If they do not have face masks, give them masks. No face shield, give them face shields,” Sinas added.
