Malacañang announced that the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 has required all Filipinos to wear face masks and face shields outside of their homes.

In a briefing on Tuesday, Roque said that the IATF has made it mandatory for people to wear full face shields together with face masks to “effectively lessen the transmission of COVID-19.”

Wearing of face shield was only required to be worn on public transport and establishments.

Roque said that full face shields will be used and anything short will not be allowed.

The Philippines is now bracing for possible surge of coronavirus cases as Christmas day nears. The country has over 450,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and close to 9,000 deaths.
