Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said the Philippine’s ban on countries with confirmed cases of the new COVID-19 variant has been expanded to 20 territories.
“We expanded the ban to 20 countries. Hahaba po ang listahahan na yan,” Duque told the media.
According to a Dec. 29 bulletin of the Department of Transportation, all travellers coming from these countries will be denied entry to the Philippines:
1. United Kingdom
2. Switzerland
3. Denmark
4. Hong Kong
5. Singapore
6. Ireland
7. Japan
8. Germany
9. Australia
10. Iceland
11. South Africa
12. Italy
13. Israel
14. Spain
15. Netherlands
16. Lebanon
17. Canada
18. Sweden
19. France
20. South Korea
On Tuesday, the Philippine government has ordered suspension on travellers from countries with cases of new coronavirus variant.
The ban will take effect starting tomorrow, December 30, until January 15, according Duque.
The travel restrictions, however, exempts overseas Filipino workers.
