Select travelers from overseas headed to Abu Dhabi may no longer need to undergo quarantine after they undergo the second COVID-19 test upon arrival.
The Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee has announced that starting December 24, travelers coming from ‘green countries’ no longer need to undergo quarantine provided they present a negative COVID-19 result valid for 96 hours.

The website, www.visitabudhabi.ae lists the ‘green countries’ as follows: Australia, Brunei, China, Greece, Greenland, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mauritius, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
As of posting time, passengers of flights from the Philippines and other countries not mentioned in the list of ‘green countries’ are still required to undergo a 10-day quarantine when they land in Abu Dhabi.
The list of country classifications will be subject to a review and update every two weeks, as announced by the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office.
