Two foreigners were arrested in Dubai for possession of 40kg of crystal meth or shabu, which they intended to sell.

One of them was identified by Dubai Police as a relative of a drug ringleader who was operating outside the UAE.

The anti-narcotics team of the police force put the suspects under surveillance for days, reported WAM.

Upon confirming that they peddle illegal narcotics, the police acted on the permit given the Dubai Public Prosecution to conduct a raid called the ‘Black bag’ operation.

Brigadier Eid Mohammed Thani Hareb, Director of the Anti-Narcotics General Directorate at the Dubai Police, said the duo usually carry black bags stashed with narcotics.

He said they followed their trail of the suspects. “After they were off the vehicle, the police teams raided them [and found in their] possession a black bag containing 40 kilograms of crystal.”

He added, “The two Asian men were placed under surveillance so as to arrest them red-handed, as the two used to change the place of drugs several times in different areas, but all their movements were under the eyes of the anti-narcotics teams 24 hours”.
