The Philippines will sign a deal with British Pharmaceutical company who produces the vaccine AstraZeneca as part of the country’s vaccination program.
Officials revealed that they will sign a tripartite deal for two million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine according to vaccine czar Carlito Galvez.
AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford announced on Monday that their inexpensive, easy-to-produce coronavirus vaccine was either 62 percent or 90 percent effective.
The vaccine is considered as the least expensive among the frontrunners on the race in getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
The British-developed vaccine is also significant when it comes to transport and storage.
Some of its contenders need to be stored in special temperature freezers, which will be difficult to tropical countries like the Philippines.
