A woman from Singapore who contracted coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in March when she was pregnant, gave birth to a baby with antibodies against the virus, The Straits Times reported.

According to Celine Ng-Chan, her doctors suspect that she transferred her COVID-19 antibodies to the baby during the pregnancy.

The mother said she had mild symptoms and was discharged after two-and-a-half weeks, the Straits Times said.

Earlier, doctors in China reported in the journal Emerging Infectious Diseases back in October that there is a decline over time of COVID-19 antibodies in babies born to women with COVID-19.

The World Health Organization is yet to confirm if it is possible for an infected pregnant woman to transmit COVID-19 antibodies to their babies.
