Authorities in the UAE remind residents, especially motorists to keep the country’s COVID-19 preventive measures in mind for the upcoming holidays and celebrations of the 49th UAE National Day.

The Ajman Police issued an advisory regarding car decoration rules and road regulations for those who wish to take part in the National Day celebrations on the streets.

These include a maximum of three persons in the car – the driver plus two passengers, who should all be wearing face masks.

Cars could be decorated with appropriate national phrases that do not abuse public morals. The UAE’s National Flag can also be placed on the car, as long as it doesn’t obstruct the view of the driver or endanger the lives of other motorists.

Decals and colorful motifs can only be placed on the side of the car.

Prohibitions include the following:

– Motorists should not drive in any way that could endanger others.
– Motorists should not obstruct traffic, park in authorized areas such as subsidiary and main roads, bus, and taxi stops.
– The Overall vehicle colour should not be changed
– Do not try to blur or cover number plates
– Car owners are not allowed to add noisy accessories or additions to the engine structure
– Drivers and passengers should not use confetti sprays
– Car owners are not allowed to cover the windscreen, rear vehicle windshield, and side window with decals and colorful motifs
– Car passengers, drivers are not allowed to ride on top of the vehicle roof, front, and rear, nor sit on windows while driving.
