Authorities in Abu Dhabi urge cyclists to follow the UAE’s rules to ensure public safety on UAE’s pedestrian lanes and roads.
The Abu Dhabi Police remind those who wish to ride bicycles that they are required to wear helmets and use protective covers for their arms and knees.

They are also required to wear high visibility vests and their bikes should have front and rear lights. Authorities likewise urge cyclists to avoid crowded areas and use alloted bicycle lanes only.
Bicycles should also avoid carrying any cargo, luggage, or goods that may hinder movement of the bicycle or affect its balance.

The Abu Dhabi Police also reminded cyclists of the dangers when cycling on main roads and stressed that all cyclists should pay full attention and practice caution to avoid accidents.
Officials encourage individuals to use bicycles as it is an environment-friendly mode of transportation, that supports the country’s efforts to minimize use of cars and other vehicles to reduce carbon emissions.
