The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported that some 10,300 overseas Filipino workers have tested positive for the coronavirus disease.

Based from its February 9 to November 17 data, the 10,333 infected Filipinos were mostly land based workers (6,486, or 62.8% of the cases). Seafarers recorded 3,847 cases.

The DFA said that six of these returning overseas Filipinos died from the virus.

The Health Department’s Bureau of International Health Cooperation (BIHC) reported that about 9,920 of these Filipinos with COVID-19 already recovered from the disease.

Meanwhile, the number of Filipinos abroad with the coronavirus has reached 11,545 on Wednesday, with three new reported cases.

The DFA said this additional infections are from the Americas, Europe and the Middle East.
