A female judge died from her gunshot wounds after her own clerk of court shot her at their Manila City Hall office on Wednesday, November 11.
Manila Police District (MPD) Maj. Rosalino Ibay identified the female victum as 44-year-old Judge Maria Theresa Abadilla.
A spot report from the MPD furthered that the suspect, lawyer Amador Rebato, then committed suicide he shot the judge.
The incident took place inside Room 535 of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 45 around 12:45 p.m (9:45 am UAE time).
Reports from the Philippine News Agency said a gunshot was heard while the victim and the suspect were inside the judge’s office.
Videos from Sagad Daily show that the police attempted to bring Abadilla to the nearest hospital but her attending physician could no longer revive her when she arrived.
The investigation is still ongoing as the case was turned over to the Homicide Division of the MPD.
