A survey on January 7 revealed that over half of Filipino adults encountered emotional troubles and lost their jobs due to the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to the data released by Pulse Asia, 58 percent of Filipinos lose their source of income due to the crisis, while 51 percent had emotional problems such as extreme sadness.

However, 55 percent of the respondents also said the pandemic brought them closer to their family members.

“Meanwhile, a big plurality of Filipino adults (44 percent) says their salary or income decreased due to the pandemic. In addition, 16 percent experienced mental health problems like depression,” Pulse Asia said in the survey done on 2,400 representative adults 18 years old and above.
