A Filipino man named ‘Michael’ who had been struggling to find jobs as an event’s host in the past underwent 10 surgeries in order to increase his chances of getting hired.
In an episode of Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho (KMJS), the man said that he realized that even though he is good with hosting, most people are still looking for a pleasing personality.
“Sabi ko sa sarili ko magaling naman akong host, maayos ang boses ko pero hindi nila ako kinukuha,” Michael said.
Michael then decided to undergo different cosmetic surgeries starting from his ear, teeth, jaw, lips, nose, Korean eyebrows to name a few.
“Before the pandemic ang mga gig ko sa isang araw, dalawa isa sa tanghali, isa sa gabi. Minsan malapit pa sa akin, maraming gusto mag papicture at kumuha ng number,” he told KMJS.
Michael said that he was bullied even in childhood.
“Lagi akong tinatawag na ulikba at sinasabing ang pangit pangit mo,” he added.
Michael said that even if his family told him that he’s good looking, he started to doubt himself and started to feel insecure about himself.
Michael said that he started saving money for cosmetic surgeries. He started doing surgeries in 2013.
The event’s host said that his surgery costs more than 1 million pesos.
“Usually my interval ang surgery one to two years hindi naman sunod sunod. Masarap yung may nagmamahal na sa akin,” KMJS quoted him as saying.
Despite his good looks, Michael said that he still received bashing.
Michael then decided to upload his experience on Tiktok to further explain his cosmetic journey. (TDT)
