Most of the education sector employees in Abu Dhabi have already taken their COVID-19 vaccines.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) said it spearheaded a vaccination drive in collaboration with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre that led to the 60 percent of Abu Dhabi’s education sector employees getting inoculated, as per reports from Khaleej Times.

Over 400 ADEK team members and their immediate relatives took their first dose of the Sinopharm Covid-19 injection.

“Our utmost priority is to ensure the health and safety of our education and school community, and to support the government’s efforts to combat the spread of Covid-19,” Ayesha Al Blooshi, head of ADEK Covid-19 Incident Management Team, was quoted in the report.

The recipients of the vaccine also encouraged their fellow workers to avail of the vaccine. The vaccination drive held between January 17 and 26 was open to 222 private and charter schools throughout Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Al Dhafra region.
