The Philippines’ National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has created a special task force in order to focus on the investigation regarding the death of flight attendant Christine Dacera, Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said on January 7.

In an interview with ABS-CBN, Danao said that the ultimatum provided by Philippine National Police chief Gen. Debold Sinas regarding the surrender of suspects does not have any bearing—adding that there is currently lack of evidence when they filed a case against the suspects.

He also did not confirm the angle of drug use as they are still waiting for the result of the toxicology report.

“We have to collate pieces of evidence that are lacking,” said Danao.

On January 6, three of the 11 suspects, Rommel Galido, John Pascual Dela Serna and John Paul Halili, tagged in the death of flight attendant Christine Dacera were released as ordered by Makati City prosecutor’s office.

In her 3-page resolution Makati Assistant City Prosecutor Joan Bolina-Santillan said: “After a thorough examination of the evidence presented on inquest, this Office finds that there are certain matters that need to be clarified to determine the participation and culpability of each respondent for the alleged rape and killing of Christine Angelica Dacera.”

Halili said, “Hirap na hirap na kasi ang pamilya ko, buong pamilya ko. Wala naman kaming kasalanan,”

He also appealed to the public not to judge them easily.

“Sana, alamin muna nila kung ano talaga. Ako, pumunta ako dito para magbigay ng salaysay. Tapos, bigla na lang nila kami kinuha. Nakikipagtulungan lang kami sa kanila. Binigay lang namin kung ano iyong alam namin,” he added.

Galido, Christine’s close friend, appealed to the family of Dacera. “Para sa pamilya ni Christine, nararamdaman ko rin ang sakit na nararamdaman nila. Si Christine, parang naging kapatid ko na rin po siya. Mahal na mahal ko po si Christine,” he said.

Dela Serna on the other hand wants enlightenment on the family of Dacera.

“Christine, kung nasaan ka man ngayon, i-clear mo ang mind ng mom mo, na wala kami kasalanan dito. Alam mo kung gaano ka namin kamahal. At ang tanging hiling namin ay parati mo bantayan ang pamilya mo at mga kabigan mo. Alam mo kung gaano ka namin kamahal, kasi part ka na ng buhay namin. At ngayon, mahirap tanggapin na wala ka na,” Dela Serna said.
