An official from the Department of Justice (DOJ) has confirmed that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) now has the identities of the men in unit 2207 of the City Grand Hotel in Makati in relation to Christine Dacera’s case.

Justice Sec. Menardo Guevarra, in an interview with CNN Philippines, said no names will be revealed yet until they are all summoned by the agency.

NBI has begun its own investigation to find out the cause of the flight attendant’s death after DOJ said the “initial investigation by the Makati police was not thorough enough.”

Dacera was in room 2207 together with her friends in a New Year’s party before she was found dead.

Apart from the NBI, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) formed a Special Investigation Task Group to obtain additional evidence.

NCRPO spokesman P/Lt. Col. Jenny Tecson said they are facing a huge challenge as the victim’s body was embalmed before the autopsy.

Dacera was brought home to General Santos City, where she was laid to rest on Sunday afternoon at Forest Lake Memorial Park. (ES)
