A Philippine National Police officer shot dead a mother and her son in Paniqui,Tarlac on Sunday.
The Tarlac Police identified the suspect as Col. Jonel Nuezca, who is assigned at Parañaque City and presently residing at Barangay Cabayaoasan in Paniqui.
Based on initial investigation, the suspect arrived at the victims house identified as Sonya Gregorio and Frank Anthony Gregorio.
An argument reportedly started over the use of a “boga”, an improvised PVC pipe noisemaker.
A brief confrontation took place and the police shot them point blank at around 5:10 p.m. Sunday.
The suspect reportedly left the crime scene.
On Sunday, the chief of police of Rosales Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Pangasinan called the Paniqui Municipal Police Station and confirmed that the suspect surrendered.
“If what’s on video tells the whole story, I enjoin the Philippine National Police leadership to show no mercy. They should spare no effort to make sure that he rots in jail. He’s the last policeman that they need in the force,” Senator Ping Lacson said in a statement.
