Abu Dhabi resident who was told by his company not to report for job starting December has won $1 million or approximately AED76,000 in Dubai Duty Free raffle draw on Sunday.

The winning of Indian national Navaneeth Sajeevan, 30, in Millennium Millionaire Series 345 was certainly a stroke of luck at a time when his work was terminated due to redundancies exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I just came from a job interview and to receive this call from Dubai Duty Free is totally unbelievable. I am so thankful to Dubai Duty Free for this very timely win”, he said.

He bought lucky ticket bearing the number 4,180 last November 22.

Sajeevan is the 171st Indian national to have won $1 million since the Millennium Millionaire started in 1999.

Meanwhile Emirati national Abdalla Alteneiji also won a $1 million in Series 346 with ticket number 2,779.
