His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, assured that the country is set to make headway in striking major recovery from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Vice President made this statement as he unveiled GITEX Technology Week last December 6 with the participation of 1,200 companies from 60 countries.

“GITEX 2020 will be the most important and realistic global technical event in 2020 and the UAE will be the fastest country to recover from COVID-19 in the world,” Sheikh Mohammed said in a tweet.

His Highness also revealed that the UAE will mark its Golden Jubilee next year with a robust economy.

“Our institutions have proven their ability to adapt and we will conclude 2020 with a global event and we will start 2021 with a series of projects and major initiatives,” he added.

The GITEX 2020 will run until December 10 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

“GITEX 2020 will be graced by the participation of 200 of the most important technology investment companies and 350 speakers in artificial intelligence, smart cities, financial technology, the future of education and health, and the future of remote work,” His Highness Sheikh Mohammed added.

His Highness stressed: “2021 is going to be UAE’s our golden jubilee, and God willing it will be different from all other years.”
