An expat couple embraced the UAE’s 49th National Day with a blessing of their newborn child at a hospital in Abu Dhabi.
Basma Hussien, a 28-year-old expat from Egypt, gave birth to a healthy baby girl at 12:10 am of December 2 at the Bareen International Hospital at the Mohammed bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi.
She, together with her husband, Ahmed Mohammed Khalifa named their infant ‘Jannat’.

“Today is an unforgettable moment for our family. We are extremely happy that Baby Jannat shares her birthday with the National Day of our great nation. It is a double celebration for us from this year onwards,” said Ahmed.
Dr. Hala El-Sayed Ali Hassan, Specialist – Obstetrics and Gynecology and Dr. Mohamed Embabi, Specialist – Pediatrics, at Bareen International Hospital, successfully performed the C-section delivery on this special occasion and ensured the health and safety of Mrs. Basma, the mother, and of baby Jannat with a team of world-class medical professionals.
“It is always an honor to bring a child into this world, but it is even more significant to bring the first baby of the 49th UAE National Day,” said Dr. Hala. “We send our best wishes to the family and wish them great health and happiness on the birth of their child.” said Dr. Hassan.

“Bareen family is proud to be part of this meaningful occasion. We wish baby Jannat and her family a prosperous and healthy future,” said Dr. Embabi.
Ahmed thanked the team behind Bareen International Hospital for the safe delivery of her child.
“We are thankful to Dr. Hala, Dr. Embabi, and the medical team of Bareen International Hospital for their hard work and their dedication to safely deliver our precious gift,” said Ahmed.
