Former House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez wanted harsher punishment to the policeman involved in the killing of a mother and her son in Tarlac.

Alvarez said that he wanted Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca to be burned alive.

“Kung ako tatanungin dapat ang parusa doon cremation, hindi bitay,” Alvarez told the media.

“Tingnan mo yung ginawa niya sa mga tao. Nakakaawa yung nanay o lola, inakap pa yung bata o. Pinoprotektahan. Tapos ganun-ganun na lang, barilin mo pareho,” he added.

Alvarez is among lawmakers who are pushing for the return of the death penalty bill.

The bill was approved on third and final reading during his stint as speaker, but did not pass Senate. (TDT)
