French President Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for the coronavirus disease.

It was confirmed to the media by his office on Thursday.

“The President of the Republic has been diagnosed positive for COVID-19 today,” the statement from the Elysee Palace said.

Macron started to feel the symptoms of COVID-19 and decided to undergo a swab test.

Macron will now self-isolate for seven days.

He will continue to work and carry out his activities remotely.
