A man who lit up fireworks in a residential area has been arrested for causing minor property damages.

Dubai Police stated that a viral video showed the man lighting up ‘dangerous’ fireworks as he celebrated the birth of his newborn.

“The man, who had appeared in a viral video while setting off fireworks in celebration of his newborn, has been referred to competent authorities for further legal action,” as per a tweet from the Dubai Police.

Authorities warn the public against the use of fireworks stating that this could cause fires, severe burns, property damages, and temporary and/or permanent disability.
