The Ajman Municipality has ordered the closure of 175 shops and commercial establishments for violations of the country’s preventive guidelines against the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Authorities have also penalized 437 other businesses in the emirate for flouting the UAE’s COVID-19 rules.

Khalid Mueen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector at the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, stated that the emirate continues its inspection drives to ensure compliance to the rules.
To date, the Ajman Municipality, in coordination with relevant authorities, have inspected a total of 7,968 inspection drives.
Al Hosani affirms that the municipality has also been proactively providing health awareness drives and educational programs for the public to keep them informed and reminded about the importance of prevention against the spread of the virus.
