A psychologist in Washington, US killed her seven-year-old twin daughters before shooting herself dead amid custody battle with her ex, Daily Mail reported.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office said they received a report from a neighbor about Michele Boudreau Deegan and her kids being dead in their home. Investigations revealed that Deegan is in the middle of a custody battle over the kids with her ex, which is believed to be the motive for the murder-suicide.

Reports added that on the day of the shooting, the psychologist shared articles about parenting and ‘narcissists’ and how they can be driven to suicide on her social media platforms. Some people who knew her also said Deegan is deeply troubled and was mentally ill. A few of her friends even contacted the child welfare authorities because they were concerned about the twins.

Another friend also said that Deegan had a bad relationship with the twin’s father, to whom she had a domestic violence protection against. The divorce negotiations, her friends added, also bankrupted her—a reason she was worried about the welfare of the girls.
