The Department of Health (DOH) questions the actions of two lawmakers who reportedly received their coronavirus vaccine even without the approval of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Health Spokesperson Maria Rosario Vergeire said that there is no approved vaccine yet in the Philippines.
“This is not the right way to go.
She also warned about companies selling vaccine even without the FDA approval.
“Tayo ay may batas laban sa pagbebenta ng bakuna na wala pang rehistro sa FDA,” she said.
Senate President Tito Sotto revealed in a radio interview that Senator Ping Lacson and Representative Martin Romualdez were given a dose of a vaccine that can be likened to that of Pfizer’s.
Tsaka si Martin Romualdez,” said Sotto.
It’s unclear on how the two lawmakers managed to get the vaccine since it’s still not allowed here in the country.
