The new confirmed coronavirus cases in the Philippines has dropped to its lowest number since July, according to the Department of Health (DOH). There are 987 reported new cases on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
The DOH said the decrease may be due to Typhoon Rolly, which devastated many parts of the country over the weekend.
“We further caution that this decrease may still be observed over the next few days, and maybe followed by a relative “increase” in newly reported cases in the coming days or week,” DOH said in a statement.
The total number of coronavirus cases is now at 388,137.
The DOH recorded an additional 140 recoveries bringing the total to 349,091.
However, 49 people died due to complication of COVID-19, pushing the death toll to 7,367.
Some 31,679 are considered active while 92.7% can be considered mild cases, according to the report of DOH.
