A Dubai-based Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) shared her devastation after seeing the effects of super typhoon Rolly on her family home in Oriental Mindoro—noting that she couldn’t stop crying because she imagines how her family tries to survive in a house that is now in shambles following the disaster.

Marites Lardizabal Pagkaliwagan, a housemaid who has been in Dubai for 23 years, said that she constantly prayed for her family’s safety, and for the typhoon to stop so it can no longer pose more damages on their already shattered house.

“Sobrang ngdasal po ako kumapit sa Panginoon na please help my family back, na sana po humupa agad ang bagyo at ligtas ang aking buong pamilya,” she said.

Pagkaliwagan said that her family was able to save only the most basic necessities from their home, including some clothes, rice, and one TV. They have since gone to the evacuation center to ensure their safety.

The OFW added that they plan to sell some of their other properties so they can buy materials to restore their house.
