The Ministry of Health and Protection (MoHAP) has ordered the withdrawal of several medical products over their non-compliance with the government’s specifications.
MoHaP has suspended the use of Salonpas Patch 2, which is commonly used for temporary muscle pain relief.
In a ministry’s circular, the amount of methyl salicylate in the product decreased after 12 months from production, according to a report of Khaleej Times. Authorities, however, clarified that there is no health risk and there are no reports of side effects caused by this problem.
The Ministry of Health also announced the withdrawal of Milrinone Lactate Injection 1mg / ml, 10ml, due to a defect in the quality of batch No. 1419020.
The ministry asked healthcare practitioners not to use the batch and pharmacies should stop selling the products.
A number of AMS 700 products, including the MS Pump products were also recalled after receiving numerous complaints about the activation of the device.
The Ministry said that the product was not registered with the Drug Administration at the Ministry of Health.
Authorities said that they can still use the product for clinical use.
An order to withdraw from the market for Dextin 4mg/ml injection product, due to the defective quality of the MV2D35 batch.
The ministry also recalled all ZERBAXA pharmaceutical products. It is used in treating infections caused by microbes, as the product does not meet the required specifications.
