The Abu Dhabi Civil Court of First Instance has ordered an Arab man to pay Dh10,000 in compensation for moral damages.

The judge ordered the defendant to pay the said amount after the victim failed to secure evidence on his earlier claims when he filed the civil suit.

His co-worker filed a civil lawsuit against the Abu Dhabi resident, where he demanded Dh60,000 in compensation for the moral, psychological, and material damages he suffered.

The Arab man admitted to the charges of abusing his colleague in anger, but he denied that he suffered any material damages.

His lawyer contested that there was no evidence to prove the allegations.

Earlier, the Arab man was convicted by the misdemeanor court for insulting and threatening his colleague, which occurred at their workplace last year.
