The UK Department of Transport will ask travellers to the UK from the UAE to have themselves undergo self-isolation for 10 days.
This development will be implemented beginning today, Tuesday at 4am.
According to the travel advisory, UAE has been taken off the travel corridors list as there has been an observed significant acceleration in the number of imported cases, along with the number of reported new cases over the past seven days, which have risen in the UAE by 52 percent.
Under the existing rules, all international passengers arriving there are required to present a negative COVID-19 test result taken up to three days before departing for England or Scotland.
Passengers are required to present this proof to airline carriers, along with their passenger locator form.
“The UK Border Force will conduct spot checks on arrival into England to ensure that passengers are fully compliant,” the advisory read. (ES)
