The Supreme Federal Court decided with finality to uphold the two previous verdicts issued by the Court of First Instance and the Appellate court to impose life imprisonment for a suspect who was caught for heroin possession and trafficking.

In a report on the Gulf Today, the Court of First Instance and the Appellate court both had earlier ruled that the suspect will serve life imprisonment.

The defendant however appealed the decision to the Court of Cassation, and stressed that there was no evidence of heroin possession. He also demanded a witness for further questioning.

The Supreme Federal Court upheld the decision and affirmed that the crime has been proven based on the report of the General Department of Anti Narcotics and the testimony of one of the witnesses before the Public Prosecution.

Witnesses said that they have information that the suspect indeed possess illegal drugs. The suspect even managed to sell drugs to a secret source at AED 260,000.

The court further said that the suspect was caught red handed while he was delivering the supply of illegal drugs.

It also noted that the suspect also admitted his acts before the Public Prosecution, saying he handed over a person a bag containing narcotic substances, and that he received a sum of money from him.

The Forensic Medicine also reported and proved that indeed there was heroin in the suspect’s delivery bag.
