The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHaP) has lowered the coronavirus vaccine age eligibility to 16 years old.
Previously, the minimum age requirement was 18 years old.
The move is part of MoHAP’s expanded National Vaccination Programme against COVID-19, in line with the UAE’s proactive policy to ensure the health and safety of citizens and residents alike.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has categorically stated that people have to continue wearing masks, sanitizing and maintaining a respectful social distance after getting the jab.
Across the UAE, vaccines are being given free to residents and citizens. In January 2021, Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre launched the campaign, “Choose to Vaccinate”. There are 97 locations giving free vaccines in Abu Dhabi.
In Dubai, there are now 120 vaccination centers offering free vaccination.
