Close to 90,000 residents in the UAE have been vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
Per a report by khaleejtimes.com, UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said that 88,743 residents have already taken the vaccine in a single day.
MoHAP added the total doses administered have reached 1.97 million, taking the rate of doses per 100 people to 19.93.
Last Sunday, MoHAP announced a revision in the minimum age required to get the Covid vaccine. With the revision, UAE citizens and residents aged 16 years and above are already qualified to be vaccinated.
Also last Sunday, private school educators and their families in the Capital received the vaccine at their respective schools as part of the nationwide campaign to protect the UAE community from the deadly virus.
The one-day vaccination program was spearheaded by Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) in coordination with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) and the Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap).
Health workers took time to visit various schools to vaccinate the educators.
