American company Microsoft says that it is eyeing to resurrect dead people through chat bots inspired by the hit Netflix series ‘Black Mirror’.

Microsoft has filed for patent of creating a conversational chat bot for a specific person.

It was filed in December at the US Patent and Trademark Office’s online records.

Microsoft said that the social data of a person “may be used to create or modify a special index in the theme of the specific person’s personality.”

“The special index may be used to train a chat bot to converse in the personality of the specific person,” the statement added.

A chat bot is a conversational computer program that can simulate human conversations using text and audio inputs and outputs.

Microsoft said that to digitally resurrecy the dead, the company first needs to receive a request from a person and then be given access to the person’s social data, images, voice data, social media posts, social media posts, electronic messages and even written letters, among others.

The chat bot will then be personalized and create a personality index based on the person’s social data.

Microsoft also said that it aims making the chat bots even sound like the person they are trying to bring back to life.

“In some aspects, a voice font of the specific person may be generated using recordings and sound data related to the specific person,” the patent stated. (TDT)
