Makati City is setting aside Php1 billion to vaccinate its residents, according to Mayor Abby Binay.

Binay on Monday said city officials are coordinating with vaccine czar Carlito Galvez and members of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the purchase of the mass vaccination.

“This is our number one priority for 2021. I want each and every Makatizen to receive both doses of the coronavirus vaccine for free to protect them and their families against the virus,” Binay said.

As soon as the IATF gives the go signal, Makati officials are ready to pass another resolution to proceed with the purchase of the vaccine.

“The city will also assist companies and business that would like to buy vaccines for their employees and workers. We are aiming for 100-percent vaccination in Makati,” she added.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte also set aside a billion peso for their vaccine budget.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno had placed Php250 million for their vaccine funds.

San Juan and Valenzuela on the other hand reserved Php50 million for their vaccine purchase.
