At least 13 local government units in the Philippines has secured doses with UK vaccine maker Astrazeneca.

The latest to announce their sealing of the deal with the signing of a tripartite agreement with the vaccine maker is Manila City.

Manila’s Public Information Office posted photos of Mayor Isko Moreno signing the documents needed for the 800,000 doses.

Pasig City also made a similar announcement on the COVID-19 vaccine update.

In a post on his official Twitter account, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said they have alloted P100 million in funding for the purchase of around 400,000 doses.

Other local government units who announced their development in securing supplies for COVID-19 vaccine with AstraZeneca are the following:

Caloocan City (600,000 doses)
Vigan City (100,000-120,000 doses)
Valenzuela City (640,000 doses)
Mandaluyong City
San Juan City
Navotas City (100,000 doses)
Quezon City (750,000 doses)
Iloilo City (600,000 doses)
Provincial Government of Iloilo (270,000 doses)
Ormoc City (270,000 doses)
Davao City (allocated 1.2 million residents)

On January 6, President Rodrigo Duterte announced that he has allowed local government units to enter into tripartite agreements with the national government and vaccine manufacturers to purchase COVID-19 vaccines in advance.

Last week, AstraZeneca officially submitted to the Philippine government its application for emergency use authorization (EUA) of its COVID-19 vaccine.(ES)
