The appearance of basketball player Justin Rieta at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021 as one of the persons of interest in the death of Christine Dacera casts doubts on the initial statements of the flight attendant’s friends.
Rieta is among the identified visitors of Room 2207 at the City Garden Hotel last Jan. 1, 2021, the day Dacera was found dead.
The basketball player told the media in an ambush interview that he didn’t see anything strange on the night leading to Dacera’s death.
He added that he doesn’t know the persons who were in Room 2209, but expressed his willingness to cooperate in the investigation.
Rieta’s appearance raised questions on the credibility of Rommel Galido and Valentine Rosales.
In his earlier statements to media interviews, Galido said he woke up at around 2:30am to check his schedule. He said Dacera grabbed his hand and asked him that they go to Room 2207 to meet the visitors in the room.
He accompanied her for five to six minutes and went back to their room after, he said.
Galido stood by his statement that all of those who checked in at Room 2207 were all gays.
Rosales backed Galido’s observation saying most of those who were in Room 2207 were older than them. He also said in his revious statements that he did not recognize anyone there or see any “straight guys” in Room 2207.
