All residents in Dubai will not be allowed to buy alcoholic drinks on October 28, Wednesday – a day ahead of the Prophet’s Birthday.
The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing has announced that all licensed shops and restaurants will have a dry night from October 28, Wednesday starting from 5:30 pm which will last until Thursday, October 29, at 6:30 pm.

This covers selling alcohol at hotels, resorts, licensed shops. and sports bars, to name a few.
Earlier, the UAE authorities have announced that October 29 will be an official holiday for the public and private sector, a long weekend for those who enjoy two days off weekly.
Employees in the public sector, as well as those who enjoy two days off on the private sector are all expected to resume work on November 1, Sunday.
