An Asian man is now facing two years imprisonment after he was found guilty of stealing his ex-girlfriend’s phone by the Dubai Criminal Court.

The court said that the suspect published the photos of them together on her Facebook accounts, and sent her photos to her husband and brother on WhatsApp.

In July 2021 – the woman reported the crime to the police and complained that the suspect was blackmailing her.

The victim said that she was attacked in Midrif area and stole her phone. The woman said that the suspect threatened her that their relationship will be exposed if she will not agree to continue their relationship.

The woman admitted that she formed a bond with the suspect until he proposed marriage to her. The woman decided to cut her ties with the man and insisted that she is already married.

The husband confirmed that he received the photos of his wife and the suspect.

Authorities immediately arrested the suspect. He will be deported after serving his jail sentence.
