A Filipino couple in Dubai felt relieved and grateful to a businessman who paid the AED57,000 worth of hospital bill for the treatment of their premature-born twins.

Hassan Fardan Al Fardan, chief executive of Al Fardan Exchange, responded to the couple’s call for help. The story of couple John and Monica Tubo was published in The National Newspaper.

They brought their twins to NMC Royal Hospital for treatment. However, Monica had already maxed out her annual health insurance allowance of AED150,000 for the twin’s treatment.

Their salaries, on the other hand, would not also suffice. John works as a salon cleaner while Monica is a nanny in Dubai.

Monica told the report how grateful she was after hearing the news that Al Fardan would shoulder the amount due. She said the donation couldn’t have arrived at a better time.

For his part, Al Fardan said, “The most enlightening experience is that of giving back to the communities we serve and kindness is a language that the Al Fardan family understands,” he said.

Aside from the generous donation of the businessmen, the couple also received help from the Filipino community in the emirate who handed out in-kind donations such as groceries and diapers.

Monica will now also be able to get her passport which she used to guarantee that she would pay the hospital bill.
